exchange in Montpellier, France

Hi guys! <3

Since Friday I’m back home from my stay in Montpellier. That’s a really cool student city in the south of France which we visited for two weeks..
I was there with my whole school from Switzerland. We stayed in pairs at a host family. Some of us were really lucky.. others not really & changed their place. Deborah and I felt quite well at our host family because four other students lived aswell with us and our host-mum was really nice.. That made it quite funny and interesting while we were together for breakfast and dinner and sometimes when we go out in the night.

During the morning and in the afternoon we got french classes. After that we were free.
This city offered a lot for us students.. there are a lot of parks, playgrounds, shopping possibilities, really cute cafés,  a huge beach and some places of interest. In the evening you can choose between hundreds of bars and nightclubs where you want to spend your night.. but also some student residences are quite nice to join as well.. 😉

Fortunatelly we had the pleasure to see the sun the whole time! Sometimes it was quite windy but still even better than rain for the whole time…

Over the Easter-weekend my family came to visit me. So I showed them the city and of course we did some shopping 😀

Here are some pictures to get a little insight to our stay in Montpellier.

Place De La Comedie

This is the main “place to be” during the day called Place De La Comedie. It’s in the middle of the city and by feet you get everywhere important in a short time.. lots of cafés are around it and we always spend our time there during the lunch-break.

One of our lunches.. it’s incredible how cheap everything is compared to Switzerland… wearing my LOBOR-WATCH.

as we had to wait about over half an hour for the bus which drove us to the beach we played some volley and listened to great music.. at the moment this is my favorite playlist:

one night Deborah and I had the pleasure to join a little party in a residence. It was really cool because people from all over the world lived there together for some weeks or even months. Everyone had their own bedrooms but met each other for eating, drinking and chilling in the kitchen around a huge table. That table was full of drawings and names of other people.. In the end I had the chance to eternize Debi and me as well in it and we draw a diamond with our names in it (unfortunately the names aren’t good visible..).

the morning after

we had lots of fun the other night. After the party at the residence we went to one of the most famous bars in town called Australian Bar. During the day and in the night till midnight it is a normal bar.. but as soon the midnight is over the bar turns into a club. So we danced the whole night long and had a pleasant evening. 😛

Unfortunately the Australian Bar/ Club closes at 2 a.m. so we often went to the Panama Club afterwards for some more dancing..

In the morning we always had to get up like about 7 a.m.. and because of the good weather we always enjoyed beautiful sunrises!

sisi and my dadOn Friday, the third of April, my family arrived in Montpellier. The next day we went shopping and sightseeing. On this picture you see my dad and my sister (already did some shopping :D)..

shopping street

For shopping I really recommend the old part of the city. There are bigger and smaller streets full of different shops. Also the few different shopping centers.. one of them is located right by the Place De La Comedie next to the Hotel Ibis.

We also visited the L’Arc De Triomphe and the really beautiful park behind it.

After shooting some pictures with my sister we visited a little market. What I love the most are the market stands which sell flowers!

Of course we needed some breaks of this “stressful” day haha so we found many cute cafés for a stop and a little snack. (:

On Sunday we made a little trip with our school to the beach of Cap D’Agde. The color of the water was just amazing! .but unfortunately still too cold for me to get in 😛

Most important: never forget your delicious ice-cream!! 😀

Beside volleyball we played basketball as well. It took us a long time to finally find a place to play. It wasn’t that big and new.. but enough for us and we had much fun together!

Because Debi got 18 on Friday I tried to organize something special for her on Thursday, the last evening we spent together in Montpellier. I got a group of friends together and reserved a table at the restaurant called Sir Georges. The food was amazing! Not only because of the taste but as well the appearance was really cool!

I’m not sure how good we studied french there.. but we sure made some unforgettable memories!
